Founded in 2019 in Nigeria, Bouqui Glam House has emerged as a prominent name in luxury fashion, dedicated to honoring the beauty and uniqueness of women through its bespoke designs. The brand specializes in crafting custom-made dresses suitable for various occasions, including formal events, casual outings, and bridal wear. With a strong emphasis on high-quality craftsmanship, Bouqui Glam House has established a significant presence in the luxury African fashion market, offering exquisite pieces that embody both the continent’s rich cultural heritage and modern trends. Each creation reflects the brand’s commitment to empowering women, ensuring they feel confident and glamorous in every outfit. In 2023, Bouqui Glam House expanded its reach by opening a new branch in the UK, experiencing remarkable growth and gaining recognition after being showcased at over six London Fashion Weeks, which has attracted a diverse clientele.
At the helm of Bouqui Glam House is the talented designer Bukonla Ambali, born on August 22, 1995, in Nigeria. Bukonla’s passion for fashion was ignited by her upbringing surrounded by fashion items. With over a decade of experience in fashion design, her journey began at the age of 10, when she assisted her parents in their tailoring business in Ijebu Ode. This early involvement in sewing, along with her self-directed learning through online resources, laid the foundation for her career in fashion. During her Uni days, in an hostel of over 500 students, she distinguished herself as the only designer, creating and selling simple garments to her peers.
Bukonla earned her Master’s degree in Fashion Business Management from the University of Westminster in London, which significantly deepened her knowledge in the industry. With extensive experience, she successfully trained over 80 students at her fashion school in Nigeria within a span of two years. Notably, she designed the acclaimed black dress worn by award-winning South African actress Tarina Patel at a dinner party hosted by Rishi Sunak, and has created garments for various celebrities in both the UK and Nigeria. Her designs are distinguished by their innovative waistlines and enhanced silhouettes, reflecting her talent for merging traditional styles with contemporary trends. Driven by a passion to empower women through fashion, Bukonla has established herself as a prominent figure in the industry.
Based in London, Bouqui Glam House reaches women globally through various initiatives, including fashion shows and social media platforms. The brand aims to accentuate the female form, celebrating desired features rather than hiding imperfections. Bouqui Glam House is characterized by stunning beadwork, optical illusions, and luxurious textiles, all crafted to create memorable designs. By staying attuned to current fashion trends while pushing creative boundaries, the brand continues to redefine luxury fashion in Africa, empowering women to feel confident and glamorous in their attire.
Bukonla believes in a saying “ how you do anything is how you do everything”
